PRIMARY SETTLEMENT TANK, RECTANGULAR BRIDGE SCRAPERS, OLDHAM, ENGLAND
In 2015, Black and Veatch were awarded the Oldham WwTW contract by United Utilities to deliver the upgrade at the aging Oldham wastewater treatment works. The plan was to end the full treatment at the Royton WwTW and transfer the flow to the Oldham WwTW, where the new secondary and tertiary treatment facilities were to be provided.
JK Fabrications Ltd were sub-contracted by Black and Veatch for the refurbishment of the existing Primary Settlement Tank Facilities. This contract included the decommissioning and disposal of the 6 pre-existing rectangular scraper bridges which had been in service for over 20 years. We also were contracted to design, manufacture, install and commission 6 new bespoke 15 metre Rectangular Scraper Bridges, including Weir Plates and associated pipework.
The multi-million pound project was completed in 2017.
CULMORE WATER TREATMENT WORKS, DERRY, NORTHERN IRELAND
JK Fabrications Ltd were contract by Lagan Water on behalf of NI Water for the complete refurbishment of the two aging rotating scraper systems that had been in constant service for a number of years.
The project consisted of the complete design, manufacture and installation of two rotating scraper bridges systems, along with Diffusion Drums, Launder Channels, Weir Plates, Pipework, Mesh Flooring walkways, handrails and toe plates, as well as JK's very own Automatic Sensor Scum Removal System. Onsite activities also included the decommissioning the two existing scraper bridges before works started.
DIDCOT WATER TREATMENT WORKS, DIDCOT, ENGLAND
JK Fabrications Ltd were selected off the eight20 framework to carryout work on the upgrade of the Didcot Water Treatment Works.
JK Fabrications Ltd were contracted to design, manufacture and install a complete 8.43m Picket Fence Thickener, which included the GRP Tank (8960 Ømm) (including GRP roof), Stainless Steel Picket Fence, diffusing drums, weir plates and access pipework. Also supplied was the galvanised fixed bridge and access walkways and stairs.
To complete the project, JK Fabrications Ltd also undertook the full testing and commissioning of the Picket Fence before it was handed to the client for introduction into the works.
HORLEY SEWAGE TREATMENT WORKS, HORLEY, ENGLAND
JK Fabrications Ltd were selected off the eight20 framework by Skanska Construction UK Limited to carryout work on the upgrade of the Horley Water Treatment Works.
We were contracted to de-commission and the remove the existing Rotanox tank which had become obsolete. We were also contracted to while also design, manufacture, install a like for like glass lined Rotanox tank, which included a 28,900Ømm Settlement Tank and a 15,500Ømm Aeration Tank. Also supplied was the rotating half bridge scraper system, diffusing drums, weir plates and associated stainless steel pipework along with mild steel access platforms and walkways.
To complete the project, JK Fabrications Ltd also undertook the full testing and commissioning of the Rotanox tank before it was handed to the client for re-introduction into the works.
